The news and functionality are good. But the ads are too frequent, appearing on every article on top of the pages. The "x" function reduces the size of the ad but they still obscure some of the reading area. UPDATE: I am uninstalling this app and just bookmarking the website. I still get push notifications although I turned off all push notifications. it's quite frustrating. I like APNews but the app is not good, in my opinion.

Just uninstalled. Despite adjusting the notification settings several times (and ensuring I was logged in and saving my choices), the app consistently changed my settings back to push all notifications instead of the ones I selected. I was looking for notifications on breaking political news ONLY, and the AP News app made that impossible. I was getting 10+ push notifications a day about sports, movie awards, celebrity culture, and more.

Hi Sean, We’re sorry about this! Can you please check the Play Store and download the most recent update, available as of today? We expect that this will resolve your issue, but please write back if you continue to experience any weird behavior.

The app tricks you into clicking ads. The way that you read articles using this app is to press and scroll, but embedded ads will be triggered as soon as your finger touches them, regardless of whether you've lifted your finger from the screen. So, you'll be scrolling along reading an article and then suddenly you're opening some random ad. It's pretty dishonest of the AP to have ads function this way in their app. They can definitely fix this, but it would probably cost them ad revenue.
